Floor Lovers Illinois was created in 2007 with the intention to spread awareness of Hip Hop culture through the medium of dance popularly known as "Break Dancing". Since inception FLI has succeeded in spreading awareness throughout the Urbana-Champaign area via performances and workshops.

Currently, FLI has about 20 active members who help coordinate practices, performances and other events.
